TV Guide: Watch UEFA Euro final England Vs. Italy free on Optus Sport

UEFA Euro final

• The teams will meet at Wembley Stadium in London

A year after the UEFA Euro 2020 final was originally scheduled to be held, England and Italy are lining up to fight for the title. The match will be aired on Optus Sport from July 12th 5am AEST.

Optus Sport is letting visitors watch the match for free. It will be the last UEFA match on the platform after Stan Sport recently won the rights for future games.

After decades of embarrassment and moaning at tournaments, the English have a chance to finally back up the bravado – just listen to the team anthem, “Football’s Coming Home” – with a trophy.

The teams will meet at Wembley Stadium in London where England will be going for its first major title since winning the 1966 World Cup on their home field. The Italians are unbeaten in 33 games.

Beating Denmark on Wednesday broke through the semi-final obstacle at least in the Euros, prevailing 2-1 in extra time and avoiding the penalty shootouts that have proved to be the team’s nemesis through all those near-misses.

“What a brilliant moment for us,” England coach Gareth Southgate said on the field with fans still singing into the night at Wembley. Let’s savour this.”

More than 60,000 fans will be allowed inside Wembley Stadium to watch the game due to a deal that was made between the UK government and UEFA. The result is that the game will have the biggest crowd at a UK sporting event in 16 months.

Australians can watch the game on Optus Sport, the final match the platform has after losing the UEFA right to Stan Sport. Stan has entered into a major multi-year partnership agreement with the Union of European Football Associations. The deal secures exclusive broadcast rights to every match of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Youth League, alongside rights to the UEFA Super Cup, for the next three seasons.
