Taylor Blackburn has been promoted to Finder head of public relations for Australia & New Zealand.

Blackburn had served as the head of media relations and media relations lead since joining the company in September of 2018.

“Over the past few years, Taylor has powered an incredibly strong media relations team at Finder and demonstrated his deep understanding of the role communications plays in our business – from idea creation to media spokesperson,” said Finder’s Australia CEO Chris Ellis.

“For us at Finder, our customers, partners and crew are at the heart of everything we do. As a passionate and popular leader, Taylor’s unique skill set and experience will be vital to this role, and we’re excited to see him lead our communications function into the future.”

In the last year, Blackburn has been shortlisted for PR Professional of the Year in both the B&T Awards and the PRIA Golden Target Awards.

Before joining Finder, Blackburn had spent nearly 3 years at Haystac, with additional stints at Howorth, Ogilvy Health and Magnum PR.

Blackburn had worked for 5 years with Ogilvy PR in California before moving to Sydney in 2015.

“It’s a thrill to be leading such a great team of professionals, but even more rewarding because of what we do,” Blackburn said.

“Finder’s mission is to help people make better financial decisions and a key part of that is supporting the media who inform them with comparisons, data and commentary.

“I joined a really strong crew at Finder in 2018 and it’s my privilege to enable them to go even further as a team.”

Blackburn replaces Adam Freedman, who has moved on from Finder to pursue a different path for the next stage of his career.

Freedman said: “It was a whirlwind few months and I enjoyed getting to know a talented crew who I know will achieve great things. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into my next adventure and go back to my roots in the consumer lifestyle space, ready for an exciting 2022 and beyond.”
