Taboola’s Realize drives advertiser performance with AI motion ads

Taboola says advertisers using Realize are beating performance targets by more than 30 per cent, with new AI-powered motion ads lifting conversion rates.

Taboola has reported strong results for its Realize platform, with advertisers across verticals exceeding performance goals by more than 30 per cent. The company has also introduced new generative AI technology to convert static images into motion ads, which it says is driving a 20 per cent lift in conversion rates for select advertisers.

Realize, launched by Taboola in 2023, specialises in delivering performance outcomes at scale beyond search and social. It leverages Taboola’s supply, first-party data, and predictive AI to run campaigns across global publishers, OEMs, and apps, reaching around 600 million daily users.

Brands using Realize include Homes.com, Tripadvisor, Philips Home Appliances, NerdWallet and Motley Fool. Taboola said more than 650 advertisers have tested the platform’s display and social features since launch. One aviation brand reportedly exceeded its performance goal by 34 per cent, maximising travel bookings and increasing spend.

Advertiser feedback

“Working with Realize has been a game-changer for our performance marketing efforts. Their platform and strategic insights have directly translated into a significant increase in our new user activity and allowed us to scale our campaigns effectively,” said Brian Comeau, Homes.com.

Morley Quatroche Sr, senior marketing manager, performance and acquisition at Cruise Critic (a Tripadvisor company), added: “The on-site engagement objective is a real game-changer in terms of bringing in new and qualified users to engage with our site and drive them down the funnel.”

Representatives from Philips Home Appliances said Realize’s high-intent targeting delivered “optimal engagement and conversion rates,” while Stephanie Lindstrom, director, revenue marketing and operations at McClatchy, noted the technology was helping to drive “strong efficiency and post-click engagement.”

AI motion ads

Taboola has continued to bolster Realize with AI features. Its latest addition allows advertisers to transform static images into motion ads, tested to lift conversion rates by 20 per cent compared with static creatives. The update forms part of Taboola’s broader AI suite, which also includes its assistant, Abby.

Adam Singolda, founder and CEO of Taboola, said: “Realize continues to help businesses of all sizes get leads and grow sales. Advertisers continue to trust Realize because it is built to deliver incremental growth beyond search and social.”

He added that the platform’s predictive AI is trained on more than a decade of user behaviour and thousands of publisher integrations, enabling it to deliver “measurable performance at scale that matters.”
