Sydney Opera House to serve Pommery Champagne as partners

A Champagne is best when served chilled.

Sydney Opera House and Champagne Pommery have locked in a major three year partnership, transporting the French Maison’s heritage, craftsmanship and artistic legacy to Australia’s most iconic cultural landmark.

The deal makes Pommery the Official Champagne Partner of the Sydney Opera House in a deal that will elevate Opening Night celebrations, special performances and signature cultural programming.

The partnership, announced today by Tide Communications, will see Pommery poured at milestone events across the Opera House and take on the role of official Event Partner for the acclaimed Utzon Music series.

A partnership shaped by cultural heritage

As part of the collaboration, Pommery will be served at Opening Night functions and key performances, bringing what the Maison calls a touch of elegance to moments of artistic celebration.

“Pommery is delighted to partner with the Sydney Opera House, a globally renowned monumental institution that embodies creativity and world class artistry,” said Nathalie Vranken, Owner and Global CEO of Vranken Pommery Monopole.

She added that supporting the arts has long been part of the brand’s DNA, noting its contemporary art exhibitions in Reims and a history of patronage stretching back to Madame Pommery in the 19th century.

“Bringing this spirit to one of the world’s most celebrated stages is both an honour and a continuation of our rich legacy in championing the arts,” Vranken said.

“A special place in the hearts of Australians”

Sydney Opera House CEO Louise Herron AM said the partnership reflects shared values between the two institutions.

“I’m delighted to welcome Pommery to the Opera House family. As well as sharing a place on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, our organisations are synonymous with innovation and creativity. I’m confident that together we will make the experience of visiting the Opera House even more memorable.”

Inge Fransen, CEO of Vranken Pommery Australia, echoed the sentiment.

“The Opera House holds a special place in the hearts of Australians and international visitors. To see Pommery at such an extraordinary landmark is a true honour. The partnership is about elevating moments of celebration with the refinement and craftsmanship that define Pommery.”

A legacy led by women and poured onto a world stage

Founded in 1836 and long guided by the visionary Madame Pommery, the Maison is widely credited with pioneering the modern brut style. Her philosophy of opening the estate to the world continues to influence the brand’s artistic and cultural collaborations today.

Her words, “I want my Estate to be like an open book, facing the world and time. Leave your imprint on it, as I have left mine, for posterity,” were highlighted as a fitting parallel to the Sydney Opera House’s vision to be Everyone’s House.
