Stan rolls out the blue carpet for Rupaul’s Drag Race Down Under season 2 premiere

Stan has rolled out the blue carpet at the State Theatre for the world premiere of the Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Season 2 – which will be available Saturday 30 July at 4 PM AEST, only on Stan.

Hosted at Sydney’s State Theatre by Drag Race super fan and host of TODAY ExtraDavid Campbell, Australian media and stars got an exclusive sneak peek at the highly anticipated new season, alongside the fabulous Down Under Queens themselves.

Celebrities in attendance included Spiderman: Far From Home and Crazy Rich Asians actor Remy Hii, music sensation DJ Tigerlily, supermodels Samantha Harris and Simone Holtznagel, popstar Jack Vidgen, singer and The Voice Australia winner Alfie Arcuri, NOVA FM’s Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small, comedian and radio host Lucinda ‘Froomes’ Price, and trailblazer and former AFL star Dani Laidley

The Australian influencer community also turned out in droves, including Brandon Scott, Alright, Hey!, Tanya Hennessy, Deni Todorovic, Will Gibb, Louis Hanson, Samantha Andrew and Tim Abbott. 

Also working it on the blue carpet tonight were Nine CEO Mike Sneesby, Richard Wilkins, Belinda Russell, Khanh Ong, Ellie Gonsalves, Richard Reid, DJ KLP, Intern Pete, Nicole Pastor and Stan ambassadors Roxy Jacenko, Renee Bargh and Beau Ryan.

Hosted by RuPaul with judges Michelle Visage and Australian comedian Rhys Nicholson, the new Queens competing to become the next Down Under Drag Superstar – and who rocked the blue carpet tonight – are: Aubrey Haive (NZ/MEL), Beverly Kills (QLD), Faux Fur (SYD), Hannah Conda (SYD/PER), Kween Kong (SA/NZ), Minnie Cooper (SYD), Molly Poppinz (NTL), Pomara Fifth (SYD), Spankie Jackzon (NZ/MEL) and Yuri Guaii (NZ).

The fierce and fabulous Down Under Queens from Season 1 also came out to play tonight, including Art Simone, Coco Jumbo, Etcetera Etcetera, Jojo Zaho and Maxi Shield.

The Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is a World of Wonder production in collaboration with Warner Bros. International Production New Zealand for Stan and TVNZ. Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, RuPaul Charles and Tom Campbell serve as executive producers. Passion Distribution will distribute the series globally in line with Passion Distribution and WOW’s distribution strategy.
