Over the years, SALIFE has developed a suite of publications

This month marks 20 years of South Australia’s SALIFE, celebrating with a 288-page Collector’s Issue magazine that highlights stories of leaders of SA business, goes behind the scenes of the South Australian Film Corporation and some private homes, and gives readers seafood recipes.

Over the past two decades, the publication has continued to showcase Adelaide and South Australia, taking readers inside homes and gardens, while showcasing recipes, fashion and accessories, and stories about the state’s most unique people.

High profile South Australians have shared their stories with SALIFE over the years, including Maggie Beer and the Coopers family who featured in the very first issue, followed by Anne Wills, who graced TV screens in the mid-1960s, Network 10 Presenter Kate Freebairn, Crows legend Tex Walker and partner Ellie, SA Australian of the Year 2023, Taryn Brumfitt on changing the notion of body beautiful, Corrine Grant on changing careers from comedian to lawyer, and Port Adelaide AFLW champion Erin Phillips on her retirement.

Paul Hamra, managing director of the magazine’s publishing company, Solstice Media, said he is “so proud” of SALIFE.

SALIFE has been a glossy window into our state, every month for 20 years, covering and uncovering all the people, places and happenings that form the state’s DNA.

“I don’t think you can get a better picture, from wherever you are, of what South Australia is truly about than flicking through the pages of a SALIFE magazine each month.

“And in the engulfing world of social media, SALIFE is bucking the trend as a printed magazine with consistently strong retail sales, proving its worth as a lifestyle media brand with a very loyal readership,” he said.

Over the years, SALIFE has developed a suite of publications, appealing to a wider variety of individuals with various interests, highlighting its demand; SALIFE Gardens & Outdoor Living gives gardening tips and new plant releases, SALIFE Food + Wine + Travel features gourmet food, and the annual SALIFE Premium Property is for anyone planning a home renovation or redecoration.

The magazine’s editor, Liz Walsh, said “It’s with much pride that we celebrate a wonderful milestone for SALIFE magazine: 20 years in print; 20 years of highlighting the very best that Adelaide and South Australia offers.

“Here’s to the next 20 years.”
