Snapchat has launched updates to its creator tools and Apple Watch to make connection, communication and creativity a seamless experience.
The creator tool updates aim to empower creators to capture their realest moments on Snapchat and make it easier than ever to create, share, and watch content.
Leading Snapchat creator tools updates is “Create a Video” Template from Memories, available globally on iOS.
Users will be able to choose a song from Snapchat’s Sounds library, pick from a template, and generate a custom compilation video.
Snapchat also rolled out rolled out new insights across Stories and Spotlight — making it easier than ever for the global community of creators to optimise their content and continue to get rewarded for being their authentic selves on the platform.
Creators will be able to see returning viewers watching public content for at least 12 days over the last month. Repeat viewership reflects real connection and interest. Creators can share this metric with brands to demonstrate audience loyalty.
Creators can also see the most watched Spotlight posts and Public Stories by total views over the last 28 days, and total view time across Spotlight posts, Public Stories, and Profile Stories.
Among the other creator tools in the suite is views by traffic sources, which lets creators see Content and Profile views based on the source of the view, including Discover For You, Following, Spotlight, Search, Chat, and Profile.
The platform’s updates also include spotlight average view time, the average amount of time Snapchatters spend watching a creator’s Spotlight posts, and spotlight average view rate, the average percent of a creator’s Spotlight posts that Snapchatters completed watching.
Snapchat has also introduced the auto-save stories to public profiles. Creators can automatically save their public Stories directly to their profile and allow fans to catch up on and revisit their favourite creator content without having to worry about Stories 24 hour expiration.
The new feature, coming soon to creators around the world, allows creators to build a lasting collection of their best moments, giving fans a deeper look into their creative journey and making it easier to keep content alive, accessible, and meaningful over time.
Snapchat is also set to introduce Timeline Editor, a new, more intuitive way to edit videos directly on Snapchat.
Timeline Editor lets creators to see their videos in a chronological format, making editing easier segments.
From there, users can layer on Lenses, music from the Sounds library, various creative tools, and more for putting together a standout Story or longer Spotlight video.
Rounding out the new launches is the platform’s expansion to wearable devices with the Snapchat app on Apple Watch.
Users are now able to preview incoming messages and reply using the Keyboard, Scribble, Dictation, or send an emoji while on the go.
