Simply.TV has announced its launch in the Australian, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific markets after its recent success in Europe. The expansion is part of their strategy to become a global metadata provider using A.I to keep up with the rapid changes in the media industry.

With this launch, Simply.TV appointed Ernest Ng as senior vice president, effective 3 July 2023. He joins Simply.TV from Gracenote where he was the regional director. Ernest will be based in Sydney, Australia and will work alongside the executive team of Simply.TV, leading the commercial client and partnership relationships in the region.

Ernest has a wealth of experience within the technology and media industry, having previously worked at companies such as Vodafone, Foxtel Group and Gracenote. He also supports the local communities by working with the Australian Sports Commission on the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities Program.

“Ernest’s experience from TV operators and his thought leadership were fully aligned with Simply.TVs goals and ambitions. His long-term strategic vision of building out the region and his customer-obsessed passion for delivering a customer experience outcome are fundamental to how we operate at Simply.TV and we look much forward to breaking the monopolistic metadata situation”, said Simply.TV COO Daniel Ruhmann.

Ernest said it is a combination of the APAC and ANZ market focus in metadata and the benefits clients will get from Simply TV’s advanced A.I and machine learning technologies that let him accept this new position.

“Immediately, I was drawn to how flexible and robust the Simply.TV Metadata platform is. Having been working with metadata for many years, what Simply.TV brings to the market is truly disruptive and something that both operators and broadcasters have been requested – now we are ready to support their product execution”.
