Regional screen sector focus
Screenworks chair Tracey Mair said Rose’s experience would support the organisation’s work with screen practitioners outside major metropolitan centres.
“We are delighted to welcome Lisa Rose to Screenworks as CEO. Lisa brings exactly the combination of organisational rigour and genuine passion for the screen industry that aligns with Screenworks’ vision.
“Her experience building programs, partnerships and pathways for screen practitioners makes her exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation as Screenworks continues to strengthen the fabric of regional Australia’s screen industry and develop the pipeline of talent that contributes to Australian screen culture.”
Rose said she had long admired Screenworks’ impact across the Australian screen industry.
“Screenworks has long been one of the most respected screen industry development organisations in Australia, and I’ve admired its impact for many years.
“Growing up in Tasmania, I understand how important access to opportunities, networks and professional development can be for people living outside major metropolitan centres.
“I’m excited to join the organisation at such a pivotal time and to work with the Board, team and industry to support screen practitioners wherever they choose to live and work.”
Regional to Global Screen Forum
Rose will lead Screenworks as the organisation prepares for its flagship Regional to Global Screen Forum, which will be held in Lennox Head, NSW, in September.
Screenworks has supported screen creatives and crew across regional Australia for 25 years. The organisation offers career development, skills training and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening regional film and television talent.
Rose’s background spans business operations, audience development, stakeholder engagement and screen cultural programming. She has also built relationships across government, funding bodies, cultural institutions and the broader screen sector.
