Red Havas

• The agency will manage an international communications program

Red Havas has been appointed the communications agency for me&u.

The agency will manage an international communications program including consumer, trade, and brand building across three continents for the at-table ordering system innovator revolutionising the hospitality industry globally.

Red Havas won the business as part of a competitive pitch that was truncated when Red Havas was appointed on the strength of its ideas and synergy with the brand following tissue and chemistry sessions before formal presentations.

The agency’s remit includes PR services and media relations across B2B and B2C in Australia, the UK and USA to drive brand fame in the category, assert me&u as the global leader of at-table ordering innovation, and showcase the brand’s ongoing commitment as an ally to the hospitality industry.

Katrina Barry, newly appointed CEO me&u, said: “We have experienced significant growth with me&u’s team having doubled over the last year alone.

“We’ve expanded our presence across global markets, tripled usage amongst consumers and are partnering with the largest and best hospitality groups with over 80% market share of Australia’s top pub groups to improve guest experiences and help them operate smarter.”

‘We have created an exceptional product, and we are now focused on scaling our business and achieving our global ambitions with the company on track to achieve an annualised total transaction value of US $1 billion by year’s end. Red Havas is an impressive team, an agency with a global footprint and experience in both the corporate and consumer comms space.

“Their first response hit the mark and there were real synergies with their strategic and creative thinking and me&u’s vision – so much so that we awarded them the business and moved straight into execution. We look forward to working with Red Havas to shake up the hospitality industry in a meaningful way,” she added.

Alex Bryant, executive director, Sydney PR Red Havas, said: “Once in a while, a client comes along with an opportunity that truly excites you. me&u is a game-changer for the hospitality industry, born out of a need to bring much-needed disruption to the sector.

“The brand is building a better future for hospitality to inspire extraordinary memories and we are excited to tell that story in a meaningful way, cementing me&u as the category leader and hospitality innovator,” Bryant added.
