Matt Bushby: ‘It’s one thing to plan campaigns from a desk; it’s another to see your ads live in the environment they’re designed for.’

Perion, formerly known as Hivestack, recently hosted a sightseeing tour of Sydney’s high-impact digital out-of-home (DOOH) locations to showcase the inventory available on its platforms.

Over 40 attendees from media buyers, client partners, programmatic teams, and OOH publishers boarded the red double-decker bus tour, which looped around the CBD and inner west to spot the top sites.

Key digital billboards were pointed out along Victoria Road, Parramatta Road, bus shelters in Waterloo and the roads entering and exiting Sydney Domestic Airport – prime areas with high traffic and strong visibility.

“The double-decker bus allowed us to take our agency and client partners on a curated journey through Sydney, giving them a street-level view of the premium digital sites available through Perion,” Matt Bushby, Managing Director ANZSEA at Perion, said.

“It’s one thing to plan campaigns from a desk; it’s another to see your ads live in the environment they’re designed for.

Thomas Pena, Sales Manager AU, Perion, added: “We were also able to brand the bus in Perion advertising, which was something a bit fun and out of the ordinary, although it wasn’t digital OOH advertising it was still OOH which we love.”

Perion’s tour not only allowed them to showcase top DOOH inventory available on its platforms but also to share knowledge of programmatic DOOH and bring the media planning process to life by showing attendees the screens they work with in action.

Pena said: “From the back end to the billboards, we wanted to demystify how our platform works and show off the creative potential when data and tech meet great media.

“It was also a great opportunity to share how we work with each of the media owners in the market to deliver impact at scale.”

Henry Hellegas, Sales Director, AU, Perion, added that the tour was an opportunity to highlight the different OOH sites accessible through the Perion platform.

They are all different shapes and sizes, with different audiences seeing them each day. The tour gave the opportunity to discuss the different placements and how that can fit into their media strategies for their different clients.”

The tour concluded with drinks, nibbles and networking at Babylon Rooftop.

Among the attendees was Tasnia Sheikh, Media Implementation Executive from PHD, she said: “Just wanted to say thank you on behalf of the team at PHD, we truly had a blast, and it was great to learn about the inventory available with Perion!”

Bushby shared that he hoped the tour gave attendees a stronger understanding of how programmatic DOOH fits into their wider planning and media strategies.

“We wanted people to leave feeling confident in the tech, inspired by the creative opportunities, and knowing that we’re here to make things easier, smarter, and more effective for them.
