Podcast at centre of campaign to boost careers in early childhood education

OMD, Shameless Media and Victorian Government launch campaign to boost careers in early childhood education

Emma Ray: ‘By connecting audiences through authentic, talent-driven audio storytelling, we hope to inspire the next generation of educators to step into this rewarding career.’

OMD Australia, Shameless Media and The Victorian Government have teamed up to launch a bold and emotive campaign to boost interest in careers in early childhood education nationwide.

The campaign is funded by the Victorian Government’s investment into the early childhood sector that aims to elevate the profile of one of the most important and rewarding careers in the country.

It also tackles the demand for qualified educators and early childhood teachers by capturing hearts and minds through powerful storytelling.

At its core is Kinder Conversations — a moving, audio-first content series seamlessly integrated into Shameless Media’s highly-anticipated new podcast, Inherited.

The partnership spotlights the Shameless Media team as they recount deeply personal and nostalgic memories from their kindergarten years centered around 16 captivating 60–90 second clips.

These raw, heartfelt reflections serve as a stirring tribute to the formative role early childhood educators play in shaping lives.

In one especially poignant episode, Shameless co-host Michelle Andrews shares her childhood dream of becoming an early childhood teacher and the heartfelt memories that highlight the lasting impact early childhood professionals can have.

The partnership was developed via OMD Create by strategically partnering with Shameless Media to harness the power of storytelling in content.

“OMD is thrilled to partner with the Victorian Department of Education and Shameless Media on this important campaign,” Emma Ray, OMD’s Head of Create, said.

“By connecting audiences through authentic, talent-driven audio storytelling, we hope to inspire the next generation of educators to step into this rewarding career.”

Rhiannon Joyce, Head of Business Development, Shameless Media, said: “At Shameless Media, storytelling has always been at the heart of what we do. We create content that genuinely connects with our community. That same mindset shapes how we approach partnerships. Inherited the podcast was the natural choice for this campaign.

“It’s designed to draw out unique stories and perspectives with a focus on reflection and nostalgia, two themes that aligned perfectly with the strategy from OMD Create and the Department of Education.

“This alignment has been integral to building an authentic and thoughtful partnership that encourages our audience to consider a career in early childhood education.”

This series serves as a powerful call to action, inspiring listeners to explore new career opportunities in early childhood education whilst fostering a deeper connection to the profession.
