The veteran sports presenter is heading to Purple Tic Enterprises, where he will help launch four new apps next month.

Nick Butler has resigned from Network 10 after 15 years as a sports presenter to join Purple Tic Enterprises in a media role.

Butler, a former South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and Victorian Football League (VFL) player, joined Network 10 in 2011 following five years at radio station 3AW.

During his tenure he also served as sports presenter on 10 News Adelaide for five years.

In his new role, Butler will help launch four apps next month – Awaykon, Wolf X, Lumen, and Hug – described as involving “big stars.”

A new chapter

Butler said the opportunity to maintain his existing media commitments made the decision straightforward.

“I’ve had an amazing 15 years at 10 and will miss the newsroom banter with ‘Quarters’ (Stephen Quartermain) and the sports crew more than anything,” Butler told the Herald Sun.

“The fact that this new opportunity allows me to continue to work on television, the 200 Plus podcast and call the footy, made it a no-brainer of a decision.”

He’s already taken to Instagram, showing off his new role by uploading a video from a speedboat, before the clip cuts to a nightclub, a beach, and then the interior of a hotel room.

He captioned the video: “Little splash and dash to Thailand with the legends @purpleticenterprises. Worked on some amazing projects. Lots of business and a little pleasure.”

Lucky, for some.
