At 10:30am on Tuesday, August 1st, Power, Innovation, and the Issues That Matter will be going ahead on The Innovation Factory Stage.

The session will be bringing together Mediaweek’s top powerbrokers from its 2022 Media Agency Power List for a conversation on what power really means, how we drive innovation and the big client issues that matter right now (from AI, to effectiveness and sustainability).

Host Greg ‘Sparrow’ Graham will be joined on the panel by Aimee Buchanan (CEO of GroupM Australia & New Zealand), Mark Coad (CEO of Mediabrands Australia), and Melissa Fein (CEO of Initiative Australia).

Speaking about the session, Graham said “Hear first hand from Mediaweek’s most Powerful CEO’s in the media industry sharing their insightful perspectives on the issues that really matter. It’s a must attend session.”

At 11:45am on the following day, August 2nd, The Great Minds Stage will hold the Starpower: The Importance of Connecting with an Audience session.

Based on Mediaweek’s 2022 Star Power 25 List, the session will examine what Starpower looks like in 2023 and beyond.

Hosted by Mediaweek’s editor and GM, Trent Thomas, the panel will feature 2Day FM’s Erin Molan, Paramount’s Mitch and Mark, and Nova’s Kent “Smallzy” Small.

“Advertising Week is one of the highlights on my calendar every year, so I am excited to be on stage myself for the first time,” said Thomas. “Star Power in 2023 is a whole different beast from what it was only a few years ago, and connecting with your audience is more important than ever. That is why I am excited to delve into these topics with some of the most exciting names in media.”

The panel will involve a deep dive into how they each built their own audience bases while discussing the importance of authenticity, the use of both linear and online platforms, and personal branding.

Both panels draw inspiration from the 2022 Mediaweek Power Lists that were unveiled at last year’s Mediaweek 100 Power Lunch. The event will be returning this year for the 2023 event, held on Friday, October 13 at The Crown’s Pearl Ballroom in Sydney.

The three power lists from last year will all be returning as The Mediaweek 100 will name the most powerful people in the media industry, the Mediaweek Agency 50 will highlight the biggest players in the media agency leadership, and the Mediaweek Star Power 25 will turn the spotlight on the best of TV and audio talent.
