Mediaweek’s Media Movers charts the biggest people moves in the industry over the past week.

Cindy Rose

WPP has today announced the appointment of Cindy Rose as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company, effective 1 September 2025.

Rose succeeds Mark Read who will step down as CEO on the same date. Read announced his departure as CEO in June and announced that he would finish up in his role on 31 December. He will work with Rose to aid in a transition process through to the end of the year.

She will work out of both London and New York.

A joint British and American citizen, Rose has spent the lat nine years working in London in senior positions at Microsoft. In her current role as Chief Operating Officer, Global Enterprise, she works with the world’s largest companies in their use of digital technology and AI to drive business transformation. Previous roles at Microsoft included serving as President of Microsoft Western Europe and CEO of Microsoft UK.

Ogilvy Network ANZ CEO Sally Kissane

Ogilvy Network ANZ CEO Sally Kissane is stepping down from her role after three-decade tenure at the agency.

She will exit her role from the agency this month and with the agency now considering underway successors.

“I have been incredibly fortunate to work with the most talented teams, as well as brave and innovative clients throughout my career at Ogilvy. This is a testament to Ogilvy’s ability to develop its talent for the long-term, and I have often said that I ‘bleed red’ as a result,” she said.

“It’s actually my loyalty to Ogilvy that has led me to make this difficult decision, at a time that our network, and our broader industry is at a pivotal point in its evolution. It’s never a good time to leave, but after 30 years I believe new leadership is required for a new Ogilvy chapter – while in turn, I also move into the next exciting stage of my career.

Adam Ireland x Always Human

Independent brand and talent marketing agency, Always Human, has appointed Adam Ireland as Managing Director.

Ireland departed as Managing Director at BRING, Universal Music Group’s cultural marketing agency last year.

In his new role, he will work alongside the agency’s Founder and CEO Josh White to grow the creative and commercial capabilities, expand service offerings, and strengthen its role connecting brands, athletes, and creators.

SBS Chair George Savvides AM will conclude his time with the broadcaster as his second term on the Board comes to an end.

Savvides, who joined the SBS Board in 2017 and became Chair in 2020, will step down following a period marked by significant strategic and operational shifts at the public broadcaster.

His departure comes as SBS marks its 50th year of service to Australian audiences, and as the broadcaster continues to expand its digital, multicultural, and First Nations media footprint across the country.

Mitchell Greenway, Managing Director APAC at OpenX, has been appointed Chair of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Australia’s Executive Technology Council (ETC), replacing Nicole Prior, former Head of Media and Adtech Solutions APAC at Microsoft Advertising.

Greenway also joins the IAB Australia board as the ETC’s representative. His appointment comes after more than 15 years in digital media, with prior roles spanning Bauer Media Group, Yahoo7, Val Morgan and Cirrus Media Australia.

Bullfrog has appointed Phoebe Sloane as Creative Director.

Sloane joins from Clemenger BBDO, where she was a Senior Copywriter. Prior to that she was Special Group Australia and CHEP Network, working on iconic Australian and International brands including Carlton & United Breweries, L’Oréal, Myer, ANZ, BMW, Uber Eats, Bonds, 7-Eleven and more.

Sloane brings a wealth of experience, non-traditional thinking and mentorship to help guide and shape the agency’s ever-evolving creative offering, alongside Executive Brand & Experience Director, Tim Shelley.

Samsung Ads - Carla Dawson and Levi Guillory - Media Movers

Samsung Electronics advertising arm, Samsung Ads has appointed Levi Guillory as Agency Head, Strategic Accounts, NSW & NZ, and Carla Dawson as Head of Strategic Marketing, ANZ & SEA.

Guillory joins from Foxtel Media and News Corp and brings more than ten years of experience in sales and streaming platforms to the role. He will report to Head of Sales Richard Wheeler and focus on strengthening relationships with Samsung Ads’ agency partners and improving campaign performance through the company’s product and data tools.

Dawson steps into the role of Head of Strategic Marketing after ten years at NBCUniversal. She will lead strategic efforts aimed at client growth, retention, and engagement, supporting Samsung Ads’ expanding presence across the Asia-Pacific. The business has seen its client base grow fourfold in the past year.

 

Jaywing Melbourne team - Media Movers

Jaywing expanded its Melbourne team with new hires that bolster its national creative offering.

The data, creative and performance marketing agency’s Melbourne office has double its headcount to 20 over the past 12 months. Among the team are two senior creative leaders, Nick Munt as associate creative director and Oscar Robinson as senior creative account director, who joins the growing client service team led by Harriet Bell.

Munt joins Jaywing after five years as creative director at Big Red. He has also held key roles at Noisy Beast, Cummins & Partners and Lifelounge. Robinson brings a wealth of experience from top agencies including Cummins & Partners, Fenton Stephens and Noisy Beast.

Their appointment reflects Jaywing’s focus on expanding its creative offering across the country to support an integrated approach to marketing that blends brand, data and performance.

Joining Jaywing is Corey Grigg who has been hired as senior digital account director and brings more than five years’ experience from Pattern, where he led SEO strategy for major eCommerce brands including Baby Bunting, rebel, Under Armour, Purebaby, Converse, and global retail brands.

Emma Larubina also joins as senior media manager from Chemist Warehouse and Impressive, alongside senior paid media executive, Lorcan Casey, who previously worked at hospitality company Darling Group.
