Media Movers across the industry include:

• Yahoo has announced the appointment of Tressie Lieberman as chief marketing officer (CMO), following an extensive executive search process.

Lieberman brings over twenty years of traditional and digital marketing experience transforming popular consumer brands such as Chipotle, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. She will report directly to Yahoo CEO Jim Lanzone.

Channel 9 Melbourne welcomes Brianna Travers as new chief of staff.

Eve Swain is the new digital and social media lead at Nine.com.au and 9Honey.

Matthew Connellan has now finished as the national editor of SBS World News and will join Channel 9 Sydney soon.

• ABC has secured one of commercial radio’s most successful production and programming talents, Ben Latimer, as its new head of audio content.

Latimer will oversee ABC Capital City Networks, Sport, Audio Studios, Audio Strategy, Radio National, Music Networks including triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed, ABC Jazz, ABC Country and ABC Classic.

​He takes up the newly created position with the ABC Content division on July 31, reporting to the ABC’s Chief Content Officer, Chris Oliver-Taylor.

Neve Brissendend will be the new Darwin correspondent at AAP starting in August.

RTRFM 92.1 has welcomed Pamela Boland as their new breakfast presenter and producer.

The Pistol has added two new hires to its senior team as it continues to experience significant business growth.

Digital specialist Emilia Chambers has been appointed head of strategy, while former The Pistol head of development Sarafraz Johl rejoins the business as head of technology.

Health Services Daily has welcomed Cate Swannell as their new editor.

• Hit Metro group content director, Amanda Lee, has announced the appointment of James ‘Speedy’ Speed as Mix 94.5 Perth content director.

The new role marks Speed’s return to SCA, having worked in numerous content roles, including SAFM Adelaide, HIT929 Perth and, most recently, at The FOX in Melbourne as assistant content director, and Hit and Triple M Central Coast content director.

Indigo Lemay-Conway has now finished as a music reviewer for The West Australian and as a Journalist for PerthNow. 

Rosanna Ryan has started as digital editor of the Brisbane Times.

Sarah Dowling has started as news editor with REA Group.

The Property Tribune has welcomed Michael Cameron as a reporter. 

Foxtel Media has announced three key promotions to bolster their Victorian team as Foxtel’s streaming subscribers continue to rise.

Rian WisemantelMonika Poposki, and Claudia Bracegirdle have been respectively promoted to head of sales Melbourne, head of sport Sales Victoria, and group sales manager.

Rebecca MacFarlane is now head of content at Insider Guides.

David Smith has been promoted to managing editor of Kotaku Australia. 

• Digital outdoor media company QMS has announced the appointment of Olivia Gotch as general manager – City of Sydney, effective immediately.

In her new role, Gotch will report to QMS executive general manager, Mark Fairhurst, and manage the revenue and sales operations of QMS’ premium digital City of Sydney street furniture network.

NBN News Newcastle has welcomed Toni Ambrogetti as a reporter / producer. 

William Howard has started as a reporter at ABC Gippsland. 

• National Indigenous Television (NITV) has announced the appointment of Taryne Laffar as commissioning editor. Laffar, who descends from the Bardi and Jabbir Jabbir nations in the West Kimberley, has more than 15 years experience in the Australian screen industry as a writer, producer, director and in casting. 

She joins NITV from PiNK PEPPER, a Western Australian First Nations and female-owned production company she started in 2020, specialising in developing and producing Indigenous-led screen content.

Ashlea Hansen has left Channel Seven after a decade of crime reporting and has joined Sky News Australia as a freelance news anchor. 

News Corp Australia has announced the appointment of Krysia Bonkowski as editorin-chief of delicious.

Bonkowski, currently editor of delicious., has been with the brand since October 2021 and steps into her new role as editorin-chief immediately. She will continue to report to Kerrie McCallum, editorial director of Premium Food, Travel and Health.
