Half Dome has been appointed as the media agency for international gifting platform Moonpig.
The independent media agency will oversee strategic planning and media activation for Moonpig in Australia, supporting its entry into the local market.
Moonpig, founded in the UK in 2000, is a global ecommerce platform offering personalised greeting cards, gifts, flowers, and digital gift experiences.
The company expanded to markets including the Netherlands, Ireland, and the US, and delivered 35 million orders globally in the last financial year.
Moonpig’s launch in Australia includes a local product range with personalisation features and a focus on growing its customer base.
The win adds to Half Dome’s expanding ecommerce and retail portfolio, including Ego Pharmaceuticals, Ecosa and GMHBA health fund.
Moonpig International Director, Mary Liu, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Half Dome as we grow Moonpig’s presence in the Australian market. Their strategic thinking, media expertise and clear understanding of our brand and customers made them stand out.
“From the very beginning, they’ve shown a collaborative spirit and creative flair that aligns perfectly with our team. We’re confident this partnership will help us reach even more Aussie shoppers in meaningful ways.”
Will Harms, Half Dome Founder & Head of Clients, added: “We’re excited to partner with Moonpig as they continue to build their presence in the Australian market.
“From the outset, there was a strong alignment in ambition and approach between our teams – we demonstrated our vision to push beyond the norm with insight-led ideas, underpinned by a collaborative mindset that made us feel like a natural extension of their team. We’re excited to bring bold, distinctive media thinking to help the Moonpig brand grow.”
In COMvergence’s Q1–Q3 2024 New Business Barometer, the agency was ranked the top independent media agency for new business, with US$40 million in wins. Recent clients include Australian Builders Network, Online Education Services, and NTI Limited.
In May, Joe Frazer, co-founder and Head of Digital and Growth at Half Dome, told Mediaweek Half Dome’s inclusion in the top Australian independent agencies New Business Barometer was a “very exciting” achievement for the agency.
Frazer said: “Primarily as it is a great acknowledgement of the good work coming out of the agency – this is reinforced by our first Media i ranking, having 100% of staff saying they are proud of the work we put out – leading all comers.
“Looking at the broader rankings, it is a trend that the agencies that keep clients, grow the most, so we are most excited about having that strong foundation and focus on our current client base.”
In May, Sling & Stone was appointed to lead brand awareness for global greetings cards and gifts platform Moonpig in Australia.
