Australians will be able to watch all the action at the Golden Globes live on Stan from 11 am AEDT

The 80th Golden Globes Awards will kick off at 11 am AEDT, and leading Australia’s hopes is Cate Blanchett.

The actress is the front-runner to win Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her lead role in Tár. According to Sportsbet, Blanchett is favourite to win at $1.25, followed by Michelle Williams in The Fablemans at $5.00 and Viola Davis at $10.00 for The Woman King.

Rounding out the nominations in the category is Olivia Colman in Empire of Light at $12.00 and Ana De Armas at for Netflix’s Blonde at $15.00

Hugh Jackman has been nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in The Son. At $23.00, he contends with Austin Butler in Elvis, who is the favourite to win at $1.33, followed by Brendan Fraser in The Whale at $2.80.

Margot Robbie also earned her a nomination in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical category in Babylon. The former Neighbours star is at $9, just behind the favourite Michelle Yeoh for Everything Everywhere All at Once who leads at $1.06.

The Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series sees Elizabeth Debicki recognised for her portrayal of Princess Diana in season five of The Crown at $3.25. She is behind Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph at $1.67 who is favourite to win the category.

Taking the lead in Best Motion Picture – Drama is The Fablemans at $1.83, followed by Top Gun: Maverick at $3.00, Avatar: The Way of Water at $6.00, Elvis at $7.50 and Tár at $17.00.

For Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Everything Everywhere All at Once is expected to take to top title, followed by The Banshees of Inisherin at $2.70 and Babylon at $2.70.

Rounding out the category is Netflix’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery at $17.00 and Triangle of Sadness at $21.00.

Australians will be able to watch all the action at the Golden Globes live on Stan after the streaming service recently announced it has acquired the exclusive Australian rights to broadcasting live on 11 January, the same time as the U.S.

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards will mark Stan’s first live awards ceremony, with the event hosted by comedian Jerrod Charmicael (The Carmichael Show).

The awards will place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the 2023 Golden Globe Awards celebrates the 80th anniversary of the awards ceremony.
