Emmy Awards 2022: White Lotus star Murray Bartlett leads Australian wins

Emmy

• The award show was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles

The 74th Emmy Awards are celebrating the best in TV entertainment.

The stars dressed to the nines as they walked the red carpet of the award show held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Hosting the event was Saturday Night Live veteran Kenan Thompson, who impressed audiences with a dance production number featuring legally cleared theme songs from iconic TV shows.

Leading the Australian contingency was White Lotus star Murray Bartlett who won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Bartlett was up against his co-stars Jake Lacy and Steve Zahn, and the likes of Dopesick stars Will Poulter, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg, as well as Seth Rogen in the series Pam & Tommy.

The Australian actor said on stage: “Thank you so much to the Academy for inviting me up here I’m truly honoured.”

“Mike, thank you for giving me one of the best experiences of my life, truly. I just, I adore you and admire you, thank you,” Bartlett added, referring to the show’s director Mike White. “Thank you to our phenomenal cast and crew and producers on White Lotus I’m so proud to be part of this group.”
