Dentsu promotes Luke Speers to APAC chief people officer

• Speers new role comes after six years at dentsu ANZ

Dentsu international has promoted Luke Speers to APAC chief people officer.

Speers shared the news in a post on LinkedIn, he wrote: “After six years with dentsu ANZ, I am proud to now be leading our dentsu international APAC HR Community.

“With over 200+ HR humans across APAC, I am truly looking forward to partnering with a region that offers so much opportunity, growth and most importantly, incredible talent,” he added.

Speers new role comes after six years at dentsu ANZ, starting as the head of talent ANZ, before moving up to human resources director ANZ.

He then moved up in the company to the role of chief people officer ANZ role in 2019 and in 2021 that went on to also include the SEA region.

Before joining dentsu, Speers was spent time as a consultant at MitchelLake Consulting, Telstra, followed by roles at iSelect. 

Angela Tangas, CEO dentsu ANZ, welcomed Speers appointment. She said: “Luke Speers, previously, chief people officer, dentsu, ANZ (and SEA) has been promoted to the role of regional HR director, APAC.

“Over the last 2 years, Luke has been a brilliant partner to myself and our broader leadership team, supporting our evolution and sustainable growth by focusing on the single most important ingredient – our talented humans by attracting, retaining and enhancing our diverse and inclusive team of thinkers, makers, and doers.

“Luke is passionate about people and how we deliver the best people experiences possible to create a positive lasting impact, his APAC remit will enable this to be realised across all markets, building on our focus to not only grow and nurture our current and next generation talent, but to further our commitment to borderless teaming,” she added.

This comes after Dentsu welcomed one of Melbourne’s most respected ECDs, Sarah McGregor to the creative agency.
