Deborah Hutton to host new Foxtel Arts series

Foxtel Arts announces Event – new monthly show hosted by Deborah Hutton

•  Starts Sunday, September 6 at 5pm AEST exclusive to Foxtel Arts
•  First episode features actors Barry Otto and Susie Porter and exclusive live performances by beatboxer Tom Thum and violinist Richard Tognetti

Australia’s thriving arts scene will be showcased in a new monthly show produced exclusively by Foxtel Arts called Event, hosted by Deborah Hutton.

Filmed in the Foxtel studios and exploring everything that’s new in Australian music, theatre, visual arts and books, Event will give viewers an up-to-date look at what’s happening around the country in the arts world, from current shows, to festivals, exhibitions and interviews with local and touring talent.

Event will feature in-studio interviews with Hutton and some of Australia’s leading and up-and-coming artists, as well as live in-studio performances and regular segments.

Hutton will be joined in the studio each month by ABC Radio National presenter and arts commentator Cassie McCullagh.

McCullough will present up-to-date arts news and host The Critics’ Corner, a monthly segment featuring two guest journalists and their no-holds-barred critiques of current books, music and theatre.

Hutton said: “Event is a show Australia needs! It’s a wonderfully fresh look at everything that’s current in our local arts community. It will not only give arts and culture a place to shine, but create a buzz about what’s brilliant and should not be missed. I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be hosting this fabulous show for Foxtel.”
