From Roe v. Wade to digital identities, SXSW 2023 has locked in engaging visionaries.

South by Southwest (colloquially referred to as SXSW) will hold its 37th conference in March 2023, celebrating tech, entertainment and creative visionaries of culture across the world.

The first round of featured speakers has been announced, with the lineup including talks of what is to come from CEO and Chief Futurist of Signal and Cipher Ian Bearcraft, co-authors of the anticipated book The Future Normal: How We Will Live, Work and Thrive In The Next Decade Rohit Bhargava and Henry Coutinho-Mason and host of the Future of Sex podcast Bryony Cole.

“At SXSW, our goal is to always host a range of speakers who represent the full spectrum of the creative industries that converge in Austin every March,” said Hugh Forrest, chief programming officer.

With a focus on the future, co-founder of Supermajority, New York Times bestselling author, and former President and CEO of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund Cecile Richards takes a look at America’s present since the overturning of Roe v. Wade and what the historic repeal of the amendment means for data privacy rights with Data Privacy After Roe v. Wade.

A turning point in American history, an individual’s browser history and location can be used by law enforcement and private citizens alike to pursue and detain people who are suspected of obtaining or aiding an abortion.

Founder and President of Saysh and the most decorated Track & Field Olympian in history Allyson Felix, CEO of Indeed Chris Hyams, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music Guy Moot, and Founder and CEO of the Future Today Institute Amy Webb have also been named in the first announcement of speakers.

SXSW takes place in Austin, Texas from 10 March – 19 March 2023, with speakers delivering bold ideas and engaging in unique discussions with people across a variety of industries and programming formats.
