Concrete Playground has announced the appointment of Alex Light to the position of managing director, effective immediately.

Light has been working with the independently-owned digital publisher for the past two years as a consultant, advising the business on commercial and strategic projects.

Light was recently at the helm of driving the launch of Concrete Playground’s new travel booking platform, Concrete Playground Trips.

Light said of his appointment: “I’m excited to join the Concrete Playground team as managing director, having seen first-hand what an exciting time it is for the business.

Prior to joining the publisher, Light launched Bowlow Draught beer and worked at VICE as its Australian commercial director driving business across APAC. He also launched its creative agency arm, VIRTUE, into the Australian market.
