CHEP - Cat Mellon

Mellon joins CHEP and its national strategy leadership team after seven years with M&C Saatchi

CHEP has announced the appointment of Catherine Mellon as executive strategy director.

Mellon joins the agency and its national strategy leadership team after seven years with M&C Saatchi, starting as a senior strategist in 2015. Her last role there was as group strategy director.

While at M&C Saatchi, Mellon led strategy for high-profile clients such as Commonwealth Bank, Baiada Brands, Woolworths, Sydney Opera House, Minderoo and more.

As an integrated strategist, she believes in building brands from the ground up, facilitated by a strong focus on working alongside senior stakeholders to place brand and innovation thinking at the heart of their business.

Mellon’s passion for creativity has seen her work awarded at a range of major creative and strategic award shows.

Lilian Sor, CHEP’s chief strategy officer, said of Mellon’s appointment: “We’re thrilled to have Cat join our crew of multi-disciplinary strategists. Cat’s reputation for being whip-smart, collaborative, humble and kind to the core proceeds her.

“Her depth of strategic experience, creative flair and business nous make her the perfect strategist to help our clients continue to out-compete the market,” she added.

Mellon said of her new role: “Ideas come in as many shapes as do client and real world problems, so I’m so excited to be joining CHEP, who have a formidable mix of brains, business structure and skill sets to create modern, interesting ideas and experiences.”

“The instant I started talking with Lil, Gav and Juz, I could feel their shared vision for CHEP and importantly, loved how important it was for them to surround themselves with great humans. I can’t wait to get stuck in,” she added.

Sor was appointed as chief strategy officer in July. In the role, she will oversee the strategy and planning function across the network.
