Bankwest has rolled out a fresh wave of creative work with Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, extending its ‘Just Enough Bank’ platform with new spots designed to reduce everyday banking stress and give Australians more mental space for, well, everything else.
The integrated campaign, launching over the coming weeks, introduces three new features to help customers worry less about bank admin, such as security, duplicate subscriptions, and unknown transactions.
Banking, but not all-consuming
The new work builds on the ‘Just Enough Bank’ platform launched in March last year, reinforcing Bankwest’s core belief that banking should play a proportionate role in people’s lives.
Rachel Aikin, GM, Customer Marketing and Communications at Bankwest, said the brand is continuing to lean into that insight as Australians seek ways to simplify everyday tasks.
“We’re loving how Australians are responding to the ‘Just Enough Bank’ campaign, so we’re continuing to lean on it to bring to life the insight that we’d all like to have a little more brain space these days,” Aikin said.
“These features have been carefully designed to do just that – taking the worry out of everyday money tasks for busy Australians.”
From bank worries to life’s weird ones
Directed by Steve Ayson from 3&7, the new spots feature Bankwest customers whose financial worries have been replaced by far more existential (and slightly odd) concerns.
Viewers see characters pondering things like whether they’re slowly becoming their mother, the possibility of alien abduction, or the awkwardness of meeting new neighbours.
The tone stays light and relatable, using humour to underline the message that when banking fades into the background, life’s other thoughts tend to fill the space.
“This is such a great platform and brand to work on,” said Micah Walker, founder and chief creative officer at Bear Meets Eagle On Fire. “There’s more fun stuff to come.”
