International strategy studio Untangld has appointed Amanda Quested as managing director, marking a significant senior hire as the firm doubles down on its evidence-led, senior-driven strategy model.
Based in Sydney, Quested will work across Untangld’s Australian and international clients, with a remit spanning growth, senior partnerships and shaping the next phase of the studio’s expansion.
A senior operator with global pedigree
Quested brings more than 25 years’ experience across the UK and Australia, spanning brand strategy, growth, communications and commercial leadership
Most recently, she was Head of Group Marketing & Communications at M+C Saatchi Group AUNZ, where she also served as Managing Partner, leading the CommBank and CommSec accounts
Her career includes senior roles at Leo Burnett and BBH London, working on brands including CommBank, Samsung, McDonald’s, Audi, WWF’s Earth Hour and Unilever
The work she has led across those brands has earned more than 40 awards at Cannes Lions, D&AD and the Effies.
Her appointment reflects what Untangld describes as a commitment to strategy that is “senior-led, evidence-driven and designed to be built and used in the real world – not left in a deck”
Quested said: “In a market moving this fast, clarity really matters. That’s what pulled me toward Untangld. Senior judgment rather than layers of process, experienced people on the tools, and a strategy that truly unlocks growth. I’m excited to get stuck in.”
Untangld works across research, business and brand strategy, CX and experience design, with what it describes as a strong bias toward action
Co-Founder Jamal Cassim said Quested’s commercial depth and leadership style were central to the hire.
“Amanda brings rare depth. She’s a strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts, but more importantly, she knows how to make strategy land and scale inside complex organisations. She’s deeply human in how she leads, and she joins us at a moment when Untangld continues to gain momentum globally. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on the team.”
The appointment follows Untangld’s recent win as strategic brand partner for The Australian Ballet, underscoring the studio’s push into high-profile cultural and commercial accounts.
For Untangld, the message is straightforward: senior brains on the tools, fewer layers, faster outcomes.
