Altos Tequila has made a loud debut at the Australian Open, officially opening Casa Altos on Grand Slam Oval as the tournament’s first-ever Official Tequila partner.
Running from January 12 to February 1, Casa Altos is positioned as a nine-metre tequila bar and lounge, designed to bring Mexican flavour, sound and celebration into the heart of Melbourne Park.
The activation forms the centrepiece of Altos’ new campaign, ‘No Quiet Please’, which deliberately plays against tennis tradition by swapping silence for energy and spectacle.
A courtside tequila experience
At Casa Altos, fans can escape the summer heat under misted cabanas while sampling a range of Altos serves, including the Australian Open hero cocktail, the Match Point Paloma, alongside Altos Lime Margarita and Watermelon Margarita premix cans.
Crafted exclusively for the tournament, the Match Point Paloma blends Altos’ 100% agave tequila with pink grapefruit, fresh lime, agave syrup and salt. Slightly fruitier and more citrus-forward than a classic paloma, it is garnished with grapefruit and rosemary and served in a patterned reusable cup inspired by Altos’ brand home in Jalisco, Mexico.
Live mariachi performances add to the atmosphere, with fans also having the chance to encounter Altos co-creator Dré Masso and master distiller Jesús Hernández throughout the tournament.
‘No quiet please’ takes on tennis tradition
The activation supports Altos’ broader ‘No Quiet Please’ campaign, which is running across screens throughout the Australian Open and Summer of Tennis. Filmed in Mexico and developed in Melbourne, the campaign celebrates shared moments, flavour and volume, positioning Altos as a brand that thrives on connection rather than restraint.
While quiet is expected on court, Casa Altos is designed as a deliberate contrast, encouraging fans to celebrate every serve as part of a wider social experience.
Central to the campaign is Australian tennis star and Altos ambassador Thanasi Kokkinakis, who will unveil a larger-than-life tribute to himself at Casa Altos on January 16. The installation is intended to reflect Kokkinakis’ shared values with the brand, confidence, celebration and connection, while also creating a highly social, shareable moment for fans.
“I’m excited to be teaming up with Altos Tequila as their Australian Open campaign ambassador this month,” Kokkinakis said. “I’ll be unveiling a larger-than-life tribute of me later this week at Casa Altos. I’m pumped to see it in real life.”
Bringing the fiesta beyond Melbourne Park
Kristy Rutherford, marketing director at Pernod Ricard, said the brand wanted to create an experience exclusive to Australian Open fans.
“As the first-ever Official Tequila of the Australian Open, we wanted to create something AO fans can’t find anywhere else,” Rutherford said. “Casa Altos is full of bold flavours, vibrant energy, and is an experience that turns up the volume on summer celebrations. That’s what ‘No Quiet Please’ is all about, making every moment unforgettable.”
For those not attending the tournament, Altos is extending the campaign nationally through venue takeovers, Australian Open viewing parties and hero AO serves appearing on menus across the country.
