ACAM launches AI-Ready program to boost marketing capability

Just 52% of Australian marketers have moved beyond beginner-level AI adoption, prompting the Australian Centre for AI in Marketing to launch a practical new education program.

Jodie Sangster and Louise Cummins, co-founders of the Australian Centre for AI in Marketing (ACAM), have launched a new education initiative aimed at lifting the AI capabilities of Australia’s marketing sector.

The online course, AI-Ready for Marketers, is the first of its kind to take marketers through the full process of AI implementation – from strategy to campaign deployment. It launches as new research shows a majority of Australian marketing teams are still in the early stages of AI adoption.

According to ACAM’s AI Readiness Benchmark Report, 52 per cent of marketing teams remain at beginner level, with 61 per cent citing lack of skills as the key barrier. Few have yet developed a roadmap or ethical framework for implementation.

AI-Ready for Marketers is designed for senior and emerging marketers, and features contributors from Monash University, IBM, Leopard, IPG MediaBrands, Norton Rose and Woolworths. The program combines frameworks with hands-on training across more than 10 AI tools, weekly Q&A sessions, and live demonstrations.

Over eight weeks, participants will cover governance, segmentation, media, creative, measurement and customer experience. The course culminates in the delivery of a complete AI-enabled marketing campaign ready for launch.

“This isn’t just theory, it’s practical, in-depth AI training built specifically for marketers.” said Sangster, who authored the program. “Participants don’t just learn how AI works, they see it in action across every stage of marketing and finish with a complete, AI-enabled campaign in hand.”

Cummins added that the course was developed in response to industry demand: “

We didn’t want to replicate the standard training on the market, we wanted marketers to learn from real case studies, and to see technology providers themselves showcase their solutions.”

The course launches on 22 October, with early bird pricing available until 5 October. ACAM is also offering discounts for not-for-profits and jobseekers, and a limited number of free enrolments for media via the code TIMMEDIAVIP.

ACAM was established to support Australian marketers with AI training, benchmarking and community learning, aiming to help the industry adopt AI ethically and effectively at scale.
