CGA reshuffles leadership as Vice President steps down

Lisa Campbell is elected as Vice President, following Anousha Zarkesh’s departure.

The Casting Guild of Australia (CGA) has announced a leadership update, appointing Lisa Campbell as Vice President following Anousha Zarkesh’s stepping down from the role.

Members have also re-elected Thea McLeod as President for a fifth term.

Leadership transition

Zarkesh will continue her involvement with the Guild through the Executive Committee and Inclusion Committee, helping shape the organisation’s direction.

The CGA credited her tenure as Vice President with advancing inclusion and representation, particularly through her leadership of First Nations initiatives.

McLeod said Zarkesh had been “a true force within the Guild”, highlighting her contribution to building a more connected and inclusive casting community.

New Vice President

Campbell steps into the Vice President role with a background in theatre and musical theatre casting.

She is known for her collaborative approach and focus on performance, bringing a different perspective to the Guild’s leadership.

“I’m truly honoured to step into the role of Vice President of the CGA… and look forward to contributing to the Guild’s continued growth, advocacy and celebration of our industry,” Campbell said.

McLeod added that Campbell’s experience and connection to the theatre community would strengthen the Guild’s direction.

Secretary update

The Guild also announced changes to its Secretary position, with Kathryn Courtney Prior stepping down after several years in the role.

She will continue her involvement by serving as chair of the Awards Committee.

Kelsey Martin has been appointed as the new Secretary.

The CGA said the leadership updates mark a new chapter for the organisation as it continues to support casting professionals across Australia.

The Guild remains focused on promoting excellence, inclusion and opportunity across the screen and performance industries.
