After more than two decades steering the Australian arm of one of the country’s most recognisable traffic and information networks, Vic Lorusso is taking his leadership skills global.
The atn CEO has been appointed global chief executive of ASX-listed gtn, the parent company of atn, expanding his remit across Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and Brazil.
The move formalises a broader leadership role Lorusso has already been playing behind the scenes as gtn aligns strategy across its international operations.
Founded in Australia in 1997, gtn delivers traffic and information content, including weather, news, fuel and entertainment, to more than 91 million people every week, making it one of the world’s largest mobility and information platforms.
A 25-year rise through the ranks
Lorusso’s appointment marks the culmination of a 25-year career with atn, where he has held a series of operational and management roles since joining the business in 1999.
He was promoted to CEO in July 2023, taking the reins during a period of brand reinvention and international growth.
In his current role, he oversaw the company’s rebrand from the Australian Traffic Network to atn, a shift designed to reflect the evolving nature and future direction of the business, and its ‘gets attention’ positioning.
Alongside that, Lorusso has already been coordinating strategy and business alignment across gtn’s international markets ahead of his formal elevation.

Board backs a familiar leader
gtn chair Peter Tonagh said the appointment recognised both Lorusso’s long service and his deep industry impact.
“The gtn board is delighted to appoint Vic as global chief executive officer, recognising his contribution to gtn over his 25 years of dedicated and loyal service. Vic is synonymous with gtn and with traffic reporting in Australia.
“In this new role he will retain his responsibilities for the atn business but take on formal responsibility for our operations in the UK, Brazil and Canada. I look forward to continuing to work with Vic as he leads gtn to the next stage of its evolution.”
The change positions gtn with a single global leader at a time when scale, consistency and cross-market capability are increasingly critical in the mobility, data and advertising ecosystem.
‘A privilege to now lead the wider gtn group’
For Lorusso, the step up is both professional and personal.
“I am deeply honoured by the trust that Peter and the board have placed in me. After over 25 years with the business, it’s a privilege to now lead the wider gtn group.
“gtn’s strength is our people and I’m fortunate to work with exceptional teams across Australia, the UK, Brazil, and Canada, whose passion and integrity drive our success. I’m committed to driving the group forward as we embark on this new chapte,” he said.
While his remit now spans four countries, Lorusso will continue in his role as CEO of atn, ensuring continuity of the Australian operation while driving global alignment.
A leadership footprint beyond media
Alongside his corporate responsibilities, Lorusso is also active in the charity sector, supporting organisations including the Starlight Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Variety Children’s Charity, Redkite, Miracle Babies Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, Cure Cancer Foundation and the Special Olympics Foundation.
For gtn, the appointment signals a leadership structure built for its next phase of international expansion.
For Lorusso, it is a rare transition from national chief to global steward of a business he has helped shape for more than a quarter-century.
