180 Seinfeld episodes come to Stan with new Sony Pictures Television deal

Stan has also secured the exclusive rights to two brand new US shows

• Stan also secures AMC’s breakout hit Preacher, critically acclaimed series Underground and Showtime’s Masters of Sex in an exclusive life of series deal

Seinfeld fanatics will be able to stream all nine seasons of the iconic comedy. That’s 180 episodes for those already planning their marathon. Stan has struck a deal with Sony Pictures Television to bring the series to subscribers back-to-back and ad-free from 11 November. All episodes on Stan have been remastered in widescreen and HD.

TV Hits has recently shown all episodes and channel 111 will also show them across summer.

The deal also means that Stan will continue to add to its extensive library of exclusive releases, fast-tracked shows and cult-hits. As part of the agreement, Stan has secured the exclusive rights to bring two brand new US shows, Preacher and Underground, to Australia, as well as the exclusive premiere of season four of the Emmy Award-nominated series Masters of Sex.

The newest addition to the critically acclaimed, big-budget TV landscape, Preacher is the story of an outlaw-turned-preacher who gains a mysterious power after he becomes possessed. Supernaturally sexy, darkly comedic, action-packed and holding nothing back, Preacher is an epic blockbuster for the small-screen. You’d expect nothing less from a show developed by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin and based on one of the most influential graphics novels of the last 20 years. Preacher stars Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter), Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.LD., Misfits) and Joseph Gilgun (This is England, Misfits). Stan has the first-run exclusive rights to the show and will drop all episodes of season one at once in December. Season two will be fast-tracked in 2017, with episodes available the same day as they air on AMC in the U.S.

Stan has also acquired the exclusive rights to season one of compelling historical drama Underground, which will start streaming in January 2017. Executive produced by John Legend with acclaimed performances and gripping storylines, Underground is a must-watch, tension-filled show about a group of escaping slaves. Created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, Underground stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood, Parenthood), Aldis Hodge (Leverage, Straight Outta Compton), Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SUV, Oz) and Australia’s Jessica De Gouw (Arrow, Deadline Gallipoli). Season one ranked as WGN America’s most-watched original series. The second season will be fast-tracked on Stan in 2017, delivered on the same day as the US premiere.

Stan will become the new first-run home of the multi-award winning series Masters of Sex, which airs on Showtime in the US. The period drama chronicles the lives of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, who pioneered the science of human sexuality. Taking place over three decades, Masters of Sex was developed by Michelle Ashford and stars Michael Sheen (The Queen, The Twilight Saga, Frost/Nixon) and Lizzy Caplan (True Blood, Party Down, Mean Girls). Weekly from November, Stan will stream exclusive premiere episodes of the newest season, with all three previous seasons already available on the platform.
