Jane Hastings steps down as CEO of NZME

Jane Hastings has stepped down as CEO of APN’s NZME, with CFO Michael Boggs taking over

Jane Hastings has stepped down as the CEO of NZME, the company that holds all the broadcast, publishing, digital and e-commerce assets of APN News & Media. Taking Hastings place will be current NZME chief financial officer Michael Boggs.

Hastings said in a statement that her decision to resign was a difficult decision, but it was time to pursue other opportunities.

Boggs is the current chief financial officer of NZME. He joined NZME from Tower Insurance where he was CFO from October 2013. In this role, he was named New Zealand’s 2014 CFO of the Year. Prior to his appointment as CFO of Tower Insurance, Boggs held the position of chief operating officer of Tower for two and a half years. Before this, he spent eight years at TelstraClear where he was CFO and then head of business and government.

Boggs will report to APN chief executive officer Ciaran Davis.

Just last month Hastings confirmed to Rachel Glucina’s Scout website that she was looking for a new challenge, but would not be stepping down from her position as leader of NZME.

“I am currently exploring a directorship opportunities to take on a board role in addition to my role as CEO of NZME,” said Hastings.
