Former editor Brian Crisp rejoins News Corp to head News Corp Studios Queensland

News Corp Australia’s metro sales general manager of Queensland Kris Yule has announced the appointment of Brian Crisp (pictured) to the role of head of News Corp Studios Queensland.

News Corp Studios is a content marketing group created in response to market demands from clients and agencies. News Corp Studios harnesses the breadth, power and credibility of News Corp’s publishing assets to create, source and distribute high-quality content solutions across multiple platforms.

Yule said: “We’re delighted to have Brian re-join the business, bringing his wealth of experience in storytelling and content creation to help create new platforms for News Corp Australia clients.

“Content is an increasingly important part of a clients’ marketing strategies and the announcement of this role shows that News Queensland is keen to take a leading role in this area.”

Crisp said: “No one understands the value of content better than News Corp Australia. I’m looking forward to working with our advertisers to uncover their stories and then help share them using the News Corp network of digital and print brands.”

Crisp comes from a strong journalism background having worked as editor of The Sunday Times (Perth), deputy editor of The Sunday Mail (Brisbane), night editor of The Courier-Mail (Brisbane), editor-in-chief of the Cumberland Newspaper Group and national travel editor of the Escape lift-out in the Sunday metro mastheads. Prior to this role, Crisp was working as the editor-in-chief for Flight Centre’s content team and was responsible for engaging an audience of more than 500,000 through the company’s traditional and social channels.

Crisp starts with News Corp Australia this month and will report to Yule.
